LEEDS - Today, Cyber-Rights & Cyber-Liberties, a Leeds (UK) bases civil
liberties organisation released a statement to mark the fifth birthday of
the organisation and to highlight the importance of cyber-rights in the
Information Age.

The statement unerlines the importance of the Internet an empowering tool
and calls for respect for human rights by addressing such important issues
as openness and transparency in the Internet policy making process, privacy
of communications, censorship of the Internet, the use of Echelon
interception systems, Council of Europe Cyber-Crime Convention, and
government access to encryption keys.
